 “Vinyasa” is a popular form of Hatha yoga that links flowing movements together from one pose to the next in conjunction with the breath. The practice of “flow” yoga promotes:
- Greater balance through movement
- Joint mobility and flexibility
- Mental focus
- Enhanced body awareness by attending to the nuances of each posture
- Creative expression through movement

Chair and standing postures will be provided. Tuesdays. Will offer the option of moving down to the floor on Thursdays. Golden Yoga is a gentle blend of yoga and stretching that modifies traditional poses with the use of a chair. It is a safe approach to help you improve your spinal alignment, flexibility, strength and balance (physical, mental and spiritual). This class is appropriate for beginners of all ages.  Please wear loose, comfortable clothing. Limited to 20. A Woman’s Way to Living Well
Six Tuesdays, September 14 – October 19         5:30 – 7:00 p.m.

Investment: $55/series or $10/class
You are uniquely woman. Curves and soft lines define you.
A Woman’s Way to Living Well is a forward-focused class designed to help you create a healthier and more fulfilling life for yourself.  This six-week program will dynamically integrate physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of living a more balanced life.  You will be given the opportunity to share and care in the presence of other women who also are ready to embark on this journey toward positive and long-standing change. What will you receive from this class?
Movement: Light physical activity (approximately 20 minutes) will initiate each class.
Meal: Practice conscious and nutritious eating with the meal you bring for yourself each week.
Motivation and Direction: A different health and wellness topic will be presented and then positioned for action each week.
Meditation: Nourishing the soul with thoughtful words will bring closure to the evening.

The NIA Technique Class

Practicing Compassionate Communication
Six Wednesdays, September 22 – October 27                                    6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Facilitators: Jean Lauer, Wade Britzius and Barb Kruse will rotate facilitation of the sessions.
Investment: $10/session
Join us this fall for six sessions of practicing compassionate communication. These sessions are open to anyone interested in deepening their awareness of compassionate communication and practicing the language of the connection through:
- Empathic listening
- Observing without evaluating
- Identifying and expressing feelings
- Tapping into the beauty of our needs/values
- Making requests that will enrich life
Jean Lauer is a spiritual director and retreat leader offering workshops and trainings in compassionate communication and integrative spiritual practices at www.heartwisdomccc.org. She has participated in over 500 hours of training in non-violent communication (NVC). Jean also writes “from the heart,” a blog on living compassionately http://heartwisdomjean.wordpress.com.
Wade Britzius has been studying non-violent communication since 2003.  He has led numerous workshops and practice groups since 2005.   He is currently developing a professional mediation practice based in the principles of NVC.  Wade’s background includes over 20 years of meditation practice and 15 years of study and practice with the Diamond Approach to Essential Realization.
Barb Kruse is on staff at the Spirituality Center and began learning about non-violent communication in 2008. She continues to study and offer programs and presentations on this language of the heart.
