2020 Virtual Prayer Walk

Each Good Friday for the past 11 years, the Franciscan Spirituality Center has invited community members of all ages, faith backgrounds and walks of life to join us for a Justice and Peace Stations of the Cross. This form of the Way of the Cross is a silent prayer walk from the heart of La Crosse to the Mississippi River. Along the way, we stop to pray and sing at places that represent suffering in our community and world today. The two-mile walk recalls the journey of Jesus as he carried his cross to Calvary. Even in inclement weather, this special event typically brings together about 100 people. Because of COVID-19 restrictions on group gatherings and our own concerns for the health and safety of our neighbors, we could not hold this event as usual this year. However, our prayers are needed more than ever. Please join us from home as members of our staff take turns sharing a reflection at 10 stations throughout the Coulee Region. Peace and all good. Blessings on your Holy Week and Easter.
